Rubella Virus (RuV) is the causative agent of rubella. The virus is spread through the respiratory tract, spread throughout the body via viremia following local lymph node multiplication. The most serious problem with rubella virus infectionn is the ability to spread vertically leading to congenital infection of the fetus. Rubella virus infection in pregnant women is extremely harmful to the fetus and can lead to abortion or stillbirth. The virus can also cause congenital rubella syndrome mainly caused by congenital defects in infants, manifested as congenital deafness, congenital heart disease, cataracts and other rubella syndromes after birth, such as hepatomegaly, icteric hepatitis, meningitis, pneumonia and so on. IgG antibody levels in the body indicate whether the body has ever been infected with rubella virus or whether rubella virus vaccine has been injected.
